Thank you for taking the time to read my testimony of how I became a follower of Jesus. I have given a detailed description of how Jesus brought me to Himself and MADE ME a follower of Him. I hope it will help you. I belong to a Protestant family. When I was child, I used to go to Sunday school for learning the word of God. I learnt there that we should pray and study Bible every day.
When I was ten years old I started studying Bible. In the Sunday school, I also learnt that God is love. He loves us very much because he sent his only son to the world to save us from our sins. (John 3:16). When I came to know that God gave his son for us to give his life to redeem us from our sins, I wanted to know more about Jesus.
I started going to church and learning about word of God from servants of God, pastors and evangelists. One day, I went to church, I saw pastors and servants of God were praising and singing to the Lord. I was happy to see them. After the singing, pastor shared with us the word of God. (John 3: 1-6). In his sermon he said we have to born again to enter in the kingdom of God.
It was a new lesson for me that a person should bear again. After the prayer service, I talked Pastor and shared that I want to be born again. He was very happy and he hugged me. He prayed for me and announced that next Sunday there will be baptismal ceremony for those who want to be baptized in the name of father, son and Holy Spirit.
night prayer, I went to bed. At midnight, a light down upon me and I got up immediately and could not understand this The same day, I prayed with my family at home. We worshipped and prayed for one hour and praised God for his Glory. After and slept again. Again the same light down upon me and I got up.
I was alone and afraid. The room was illuminated with the light. Then, I again slept thinking that it is a nightmare. Then, I heard a voice saying to me, “get up Nadeem and hold this, get up Nadeem and hold and use it. When I got up, I saw a man calling me with a shining sword in his hand. I was so afraid that I could not get up and fell on the bed again.
I felt that something within me was nurturing and healing. I just absorbed the power of God, it felt divine. I vaguely remember putting my hands up for prayer, to receive that man. It was the spirit within me that moved my hand, opened my heart and opened my lips to confess that “Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is my Lord and Savior”. As I got up to hold the sword, it at once turned into Bible, the true and living word of God.
The next morning, I woke up and went to church. I wasn’t sure whether I should tell anyone about this experience but I shared this blessing experience with pastor. He said that God blessed and called you to serve his people through preaching his word, Bible. He gave you the word of God to preach in the entire world till the ends of earth. “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature”. This is what he wants you to do in the world; preaching the Gospel to every creature through evangelizing and teaching the word of God. I was very happy that he has chosen me to preach Jesus Christ, the lord and savior of the world.
After one month, I stared attending three years course from Cornerstone International College. I learned a lot of Scripture. But there was one thing I had not done and that was to accept Jesus Christ as my Savior. I prayed with my family again and again. Then I came to know that there is difference in my life. One day, I returned home and I had this insatiable hunger to read the Bible (a hunger that has never ceased to this day) and I knew the Holy Spirit was dwelling inside of me.
I began devouring the Word... reading all the time. I was filled with an excitement for being with God's people. God drew me to Himself; I committed to living for Jesus Christ and accepted him as my personal savior, instead of others. Since then, I am preaching the living God, Glory to the heavenly father!
